Shane English School Japan (SESJ) was established thirty-one years ago by the company founder, Shane Lipscombe. It is the first and largest of the Saxoncourt Group. SESJ is not only the largest British-owned (or foreign-owned) school in Japan, but is also one of the leading private language schools in the country.

As well as offering a wide variety of courses which cater to University students, adults, young professionals and business people, SESJ was one of the first schools to specialise in the teaching of English to children.
Developing purpose-made materials and courses in-house, as well as in-house and Internationally recognised specialised training courses for teachers, SESJ is well known for its position at the forefront of the children’s market.
The majority of the school operations are located in the Kanto region of Greater Tokyo and there are also schools that operate in Nagoya, Osaka and Kyushu.
